Royer Biomedical, Inc. (RBI) is a privately held, development stage Company, based in Frederick, MD (outside Washington, DC). The Company has developed novel superior products utilizing its proprietary drug delivery technologies.Matrix III and R-Gel are distinct drug delivery matrices, each being bio-resorbable, and having the ability to provide a localized, controlled release of drugs over a broad range of time spans. Localized drug delivery provides increased drug concentration to the targeted site versus systemic delivery, and consequently enhanced efficacy, while minimizing or eliminating systemic side effects.
While the applications of RBI's technologies are diverse, a corporate emphasis is toward orthopedics, and a prominent, orthopedics-focused Scientific Advisory Board ("SAB") has been created.
The Company is actively developing three initial product candidates, Antibiotic R-Gel, R-Gel 5-FU, and Bupivacanine R-Gel. Matrix III vaccines are under development with partners.
Royer Animal Health, LLC (RAH) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Royer Biomedical, Inc. RAH now supplies MIII Cisplatin Beads under INAD 10-829. Drs. Sullins and Hewes describe the use of MII Cisplatin Beads in the successful treatment of cutaneous equine tumors (JAVMA (2006)229, 1617-1622). MIII Antibiotic Beads and Antibiotic R-Gel are other products available from RAH.
